Prof. Pramod C. Rath is a Professor in Molecular Biology at the School of Life Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi-110067, India. He teaches Molecular Biology, Molecular Genetics & Genetic Engineering to masters and Cell Signaling to Ph.D. students. His research area includes Bone Marrow Stem Cells & Regenerative Medicine; Cytokines, Transcription Factors, Cell Signaling& Diseases; Genomic Biology of Repetitive DNA & Noncoding RNA and Molecular Aging. He has 29 years of teaching and research experience at JNU. His major research has been published in many international journals of repute, e.g., Molecular Biology Reports, Journal of Cell Science & Therapy, PLOS One, Biochemical Biophysical Research Communications, RNA Biology, BiochimicaBiophysicaActa, Journal of Interferon & Cytokine Research, Journal of Clinical Immunology, International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, Journal of Biosciences, Molecular Neurobiology, Journal of Molecular Neuroscience, International Journal of Developmental Neuroscience, Ageing Research Reviews, ACS Nano etc. He has edited 3 research/reference books: Topics in Biomedical Gerontology; Models, Molecules and Mechanisms in Biogerontology published by Springer Nature. He has supervised research of 18 Ph.D. and 4 M.Phil. students. Many students from other universities & institutes have carried out their research training under his supervision at JNU. He has obtained a masters and a Ph.D. in Zoology with Biochemistry specialization from Banaras Hindu University and post-doctoral research experience from Institute of Molecular Biology, University of Zurich, Switzerland. He has also obtained research experience from Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, New York; M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston and Stem Cell Institute, University of Minnesota, U.S.A. He has been actively associated with many national and international bodies involved with research and education in Cell & Molecular Biology, Immunology, Cancer and Gerontology. He has also acted in several academic & administrative positions at J.N.U.
